"One of 1995's most fun and uplifting CDs." -Bob Young, Boston Herald
"Masters of Generation X brass band music." -Matthew Bowman, Northeast Performer
New Orleans jazz with a '90's edge. Neither Dixieland revivalists
nor a brass parade band, MITS combines elements of traditional NOLA
polyphony and funk with an awareness of modern jazz styles from bop
through avant - and puts it all into a catchy, entertaining package.
They cut their teeth playing in the streets and clubs of the US and
Europe, and this is their 1995 debut recording. Special guest is Jimmy
Mazzy, a legendary figure in New England trad jazz. Freewheeling and
fun, Made in the Shade make an old style new again.
